You could say William Potter was bitten by the writing bug at an early age. Shortly after watching the first remake of King Kong, around the age of ten or eleven, he scribbled a few pages about a mutant crab and called it a book.

Throughout his teens he chronicled life’s ups and down in poetry. He returned to his love of storytelling in his twenties, writing numerous short stories. Lighting the Dark Side-Six Modern Tales represents his work from the past several years and is his first published book. The collection received the Editor's Choice Award for short stories from AllBooks Review International in 2009. The collection’s three novellas, Bent, Not Broken; Surviving the Fall; and October 18, 2012, were all published separately in 2011 as standalone books.

William isn’t a writer who has pinned down his “genre.” He enjoys the freedom of working as an independent author and writes whatever and whenever inspiration strikes.
DEAD of KNIGHT-A Jack Staal Mystery is his first full novel. A police procedural, the novel has been described as a cat and mouse, hard-boiled thriller.

William resides in New Westminster, Canada with his wife and two children.
