Often times the things we want in life are not meant for everyone. Life has demands and while some like to ignore them, others don't have much of a choice but to suffer through it. Emelia was one to ignore life's demands. She ignored the negative and exaggerated the positive because she knew living meant more than having money in your bank account and a seat in a steady office job. She wanted to truly live, but when her father suddenly falls gravely ill, she has no choice but to go back home and listen to his pleadings on taking part of the family business. In abiding to his wishes she is forced into her old life of prestige luxury, with the price of always having to be perfect and being confined to the norms of society, the one thing she detests the most. But in doing so, she comes across Raul; a business man who takes things too seriously and does nothing but work. While in his mind he takes responsibility and loves to throw himself into work so as to distract from other things, she sees him as a prisoner in a gilded cage. When these two meet, they both wonder what it will take for the other to see the truth behind their concerning lifestyle and what it will take for them to "open their eyes" to what matters most in life, living or surviving.
