Ready to graduate and begin a new path in life, Essence Jones uncovers her new found feminism. While in class, she gets paired with one of the most popular guys in the school, Hendrick. Who she believes, doesn't support black girls and what they stand for. She takes every chance she gets to make him feel guilty for talking down on girls as dark as him. Occasionally, he challenges her in heated debates leaving her wordless. Hendrick on the other hand, is highly intrigued by Essence. He loves the way her hair stands against gravity, the eccentric vibe she gives, and her dope ass attitude. He wants to know her, but will Essence allow it? After back and forth bickering, Essence discovers something about Hendrick. Something that finally makes her want to know him as well. But is Hendrick still up to take the opportunity? Has it become too late for the pair to grow into something more?
