Have you ever been so in love with someone that you couldn't fathom a life without them? To the point where it seemed completely alien like to imagine them not being your significant other? But then one day, they come to you and say it's over. They say they don't love you anymore and that you just need to move on. But how can you? How can you just throw away all these feelings you have for someone you thought would never hurt you? You can't. But you can put them aside and push them further and further away while you try to fill the cracks that they left after they shattered your world until eventually they're just a memory. Not a reality. Like that fuzzy memory from when you were six and you were sledding down a hill and ran into a fence. Or the time your puppy got a little too excited to see you and bit you on accident. Those memories left scars, but that's thing. They're just scars now, not wounds, and you can't go through life without collecting a couple a scars whether it's emotional, or physical. It just doesn't work that way.
