His all too familiar voice came to me like a whisper in the wind, making a shiver run down my spine. This time was different from all of the other times he had spoken to me, this time I could feel his lips brushing against the lobe of my ear. This time his chest was pushed up against my back, and his body heat radiated from behind me – making his presence even more valid.
This time he wasn’t just a voice inside of my head, he was an actual being, turning years of false insanity into perpetual realism.
“You are mine.”
The sound that came from his mouth was like nothing that I could have ever anticipated. It was the same voice that I had heard for years on end in my mind, but in reality it was beyond enthralling.
“Our people await us.”
“We leave now.”
His lips had left my ear, his body moved from mine and I could instantly feel the separation as the cold air swept in between our bodies. That was when I had hastily opened my eyes and was met with the darkness I had known would be there. I could feel tendrils of the darkness snaking up my arms and around my ankles, but I could not fight them. They were feeding off of my energy, and I knew all too well that if I fought, they would thrive.
That was the moment that I had realized that it would have always, and most inevitably come down to this point.
I was always meant to be in the dark. All Rights Reserved
