(HP) Lena and Katherine DuFort find themselves swept away from France after a mysterious house fire claims their mother's life. Now, their father, who had been silent long after their divorce, has flown them to Britain to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, despite Lena's protests. Snobbish, stereotypical Britons is what Lena expects to find - and find them she does - but she also befriends Marlene McKinnon and knocks into Sirius Black; a handsome, vain boy with both the popularity and the brains. Soon, Lena's familiar, lonely lullaby begins to fade, and she finds herself in a bright, broken world full of dreams and death. The tears every night disappear and instead she finds herself swimming in a ocean of uncertainty and for once, hope. But in times of war, love and hope are scarce. Lena's nightmares become more and more vivid, and they remain ever-changing. The hole in her memory is still not fixed, and she begins to fear that her nightmares are linked to a darker danger that is pursuing both Lena and her sister - the same danger that perhaps haunted their mother. Throughout her final years in the Wizarding world Lena encounters death, hatred, fear and happiness. She knows happiness is short-lived, but will she be willing to risk her world - her sister - to make it last? After all, a war is raging, and they have been brought to the center of it.
