This is a poem on one sided love. The white dove represents the innocence and purity of one's love, and it being 'one winged' means that it needs its loved one to love her back. The wings are one of the most essential parts of a bird's body without which it can't fly. Her beloved is like her other wing, without him, her love is lost... As Leonard Cohen would say, "Love is not a victory march. It's a cold, and it's a broken Hallelujah."
