The ever silence of the Maker is taught by the Chantry to be the result of Mankind's hubris, and that we need to earn his love again by spreading the Chant to all corners of Thedas. Most see this tenant as a challenge of their faith. Then there is some like Noel Cer de Fiorve, a former slave taken from Orlais to the Tevinter Imperium, who has seen the worst of men and women alike, and has chosen that the warped promise of Corypheus is, in the end, a better truth than the broken promises of the Maker. He quickly rises in the ranks of the Venatori until he is eventually appointed second in command under Calpurnia, who has his most challenging task yet: infiltrate the Inquisition and destroy it from the inside out.
