Sierra used to think life was simple. There were always unspoken rules that defined her actions: Trust adults, and do what they say. Don't drop out of school. Always do your best. Don't break laws. That kind of thing; normal rules of society, or at least of childhood. But Sierra isn't a child anymore, or so she thinks. At fifteen she'd broken all of those rules. Teachers were her enemies, at least until she dropped out of high school in her sophomore year. She had broken the law too many times to count, just because she could. When Sierra's parents finally got fed up with her delinquent behavior, and kicked her out in the snow, she finally learned just how hard it was to get by without the support she'd had her entire life. She wasn't even legally allowed to get a job! It was hard just to get enough food and a place to sleep once her 'start-up money' (as her mother called it) ran out. Sierra wished that she could rewind, go back in time and live the life that she had when she was ten. Until she met Luke. Luke was in the exact same situation she was in, except that he was orphaned. Sierra's heart reached out to him since the moment their eyes met. They were in it together, from that moment on, but did that mean that they'd make it by?
