Ray Laclede has the worst job in America. He is the roadkill man. He has two things going for him: a faulty sense of smell and a deep-down goodness in his heart. He regularly despairs that goodness doesn't show often enough. On one freakish day, however, he will become something of a modern folk legend, a media celebrity, honored by some, reviled by others, and at home just plain old "stinky daddy."
