Sports are important for children and teenagers. Sports help build self-confidence, and they can help children and teens with encouragement and self-discipline. They can be enjoyable, but they can also be very competitive. People become really passionate about the sports they love and want their teams to win so much. Whenever a person becomes super competitive, he or she pushes players as hard as possible - and maybe a little too hard. The players might feel bad about not working as hard as they needed to during the off season. They might lose their confidence, feel anxious, or maybe even not go out for the sport that they once loved a lot anymore. Twelve-year-old Liam Alexander and his younger sister, eleven-year-old Zoe, are ready for soccer season at Candle Oceans Middle School. But when conditioning begins, they face coaches that are extremely competitive. They face a huge challenge to make their school's soccer team. But with the help from their parents, Liam and Zoe learn about encouragement and push themselves to be on the squad.
