"Drink."
"Zac, I'm too young t-"
I cut him off. "Listen, kid. Rules are meant to be broken. It's about knowing the right time to break them. Drink." I refused to meet his eye, but I saw him lean against a nearby tree and take a swig.
"Speak. What happened kid?"
A long silence ensued.
The moon was glinting off the bonnet, casting an eerie light on my vodka. I picked it up in interest. "I said speak bro, not shut up."
Still silence. After a wait of at least five minutes, the only sound being the gulp of Hayden drinking, he slid down the tree to sit on the floor.
