Set in the near future: After an army group is ambushed by terrorists, congress conducts a special hearing to understand how the army missed warning signs of the attack. In the meeting is an official from the Defense Advanced Research Project (DARPA), and he may hold the answer to keeping our troops safe. He meets with the secretary of defense about an artificial computer called Abacus that can command troops in battle. Abacus successfully predicted the ambush, and now the president has ordered a final review before testing it in live action. Will Abacus be the missing piece to data-driven warfare? Or does Abacus have its own agenda?
