Marcy Hampton, a queer high school student, finds grief to be a strange, foreign thing. Her best friend, Francesca Kingsley, however, is very familiar with the concept of grief. Both girls were always warned there would be problems in high school, but death was never in the short description. When Francesca passes away, Marcy is suddenly alone, and no one quite understands how it feels. So she tries to forget Francesca, forget the grief and the numbness and the pitying looks and everything. Just for a moment.
