Her mother can fly, her dad is strong and her brother doesn't have powers yet. So why does Jada have fire powers? What if she was adopted, what if the Strongholds aren't her biological parents and she isn't from their family? Jada's parents found out when she was at a young age that their daughter had powers. Two none superheros had a daughter with powers. They were scared for their life. Baby Jada was laughing in her crib, watching a baby fire phoenix flying around her hanging toy. Until one day, they found the Strongholds. Jada's mother, Anna, had a long talk with her husband Andy and decided it would be best if their daughter grew up with people of her "own kind". COMPLETE | EDITS COMING SOON ***** "That mask covers like 2% of your face a good pair of sunglasses would be more effective." "Hey, in every Superhero movie when they are in disguise that's what they wear and no one recognizes them." ***** Rya Morgan hates Superheroes. Well, maybe not hates. But in a world where everyone adores the enhanced, Rya's avid distrust makes her an outsider in a sea of mega fans. So when she's thrust from her relatively normal life into a classically cliched Superhero story, Rya fights her hardest to get out. Too bad her best friend Trey Roberts also happens to be the newest member of the League of Heroes. He might be new to the whole Superhero thing, but he's not going to let Rya get hurt on his watch. Unfortunately, that leaves just one option, for Trey's mysterious partner LP to intervene. For a Hero, he sure does have an off-the-books way of working that causes he and Rya to clash instantly. The more ingrained into her life the Supers become the more desperate Rya is to figure out who's targeting her, and more importantly, who LP is beneath the mask. Rya is willing to do anything for the truth. Anything, that is, except reliving the memories she's tried so hard to erase. ***** | First Place | The Pizza Awards ***** Warnings : Mild language, Mentions of depression and suicide - Better Undercover Complete

A man, a woman, a boy, a girl, a demon, and an alien, all walk into a bar... THEY FIGHT CRIME! The Starlight Sentinels goes beyond The Watchmen's question of "Who would want to be a superhero?" by asking "Who would want to be a superhero if being a superhero was just another job people needed doing?" The Starlight Sentinels, that's who! They're not your traditional superhero team, and they're not the other guys either, nor are they the grizzled antihero type. Instead, they're just people who happen to work as superheroes in a world where being a superhero isn't so much a call to greatness as it is an eccentric career choice and super villains are just another problem that people try not to think about. Drawing inspiration from films such as Shawn of the Dead and TV series such as the Venture Bros, the Starlight Sentinels was crafted to be an amusing and occasionally action-packed adventure grounded by a diverse cast of humorous but relatable characters. You may laugh at their numerous missteps, but you'll also be cheering for these heroes and heroines hard-earned triumphs as well. Join this comedic costumed cabal in their debut adventure as they fight crime and battle the forces of evil anytime they're not stuck filling out forms for the police, trying to appease their overbearing corporate sponsor, struggling to gain recognition from an apathetic public, or arguing over whose turn it is to do the shopping in this hilarious tongue-in-cheek tale that takes on all things superhero! If you enjoy the first half of The Starlight Sentinels, you can pick up the full book on every major eBook seller, or order a printed copy from Amazon or Createspace. - Morph [EDITING] || Wattys 2017 Winner Complete

"They took my sister. Now I'm taking her back." Seventeen years ago, humans started developing supernatural abilities. Comic books came true as the first person flew, created fire, mind-read. The world entered a new age where people who could do special things were revered and admired. That all changed when one man lost control of his power and unleashed a huge explosion in a crowded shopping centre, killing over a thousand others. A series of fights involving superhumans broke out, resulting in the destruction of multiple cities and hundreds upon hundreds of further lives lost. The government began hunting down those extraordinary people with the assistance of a specialised unit: trained in recognising different abilities. Suddenly powers became something scary, uncontrollable and dangerous, that nobody wanted to own up to having. Seventeen years after the Explosion, Amelie Rose Carmichael is the daughter of the man who is in charge of hunting down and imprisoning these people. She enjoys a comfortable life, protected from any threats against her. But when Amelie develops an ability without warning, she must try to keep it hidden from her family, her friends, and above all her father. Can she keep a secret? Will she use her powers to help the rebel organisation that has approached her? And what secrets are the people around her hiding?
