*TW* Contains topics and scenes of sexual assault, self-harm, abuse.* "You know you loved every second of it," I can feel the tears welling up as well as the anger building up within me. I stare at him for a while before I have to turn away from his hungry gaze. "Look I just came here to tell you that I forgive you for what you did back in Cali and I'll take you back," "You forgive me?" I yell. "I did nothing to you. You raped me! You fucking raped me! You have no right to come here and tell me that. You. Forgive. Me. You traumatized me. What you did to me tore me up inside and was eating away at me until I tried to kill myself. And when I told people they didn't believe me. I had to listen to so many people talk about how great a guy you were and how I clearly just regretted sleeping with you. You are a monster. You made me hate myself for something that was never my fault. You have caused me so much pain and suffering," I pause to take a deep breath. "So you don't get to come here to my school and tell me you forgive me. You don't get to make me feel bad about coming forward. The only thing I regret is ever thinking you were a good person." _____________________________________________ Logan Young is a 16-year-old girl about to start her senior year in a brand new town. What makes your heart grow lighter? Is it the sound of a child laughing? Is it the sense of achievement of your educational or professional goals? Is it the warm, tingling sensation you get after you have made love? Is it when you take a walk amongst the greens of the world? Whatever may stimulate it, carrying a light heart is one of the most elated experiences a human will ever have. For a minute there, you don't feel like you owe the universe your existence. You don't have to prove and justify your being, you don't have to say and do the right thing. And you want this minute to stretch into hours, perhaps expand into your lifetime. At this very moment, when you have let your guards down and are trying to draw in all the tranquility you possibly could, depression hits you with all its force. It engulfs you back in its arms, mocking you for trying to escape. Like a manipulative lover, it knows all your secrets, but is wicked enough to use them against you. It uses tricks like anxiety and angst to diminish your self-worth. Fighting back with all your strength may not be an option. Ignoring it till it goes away will also not work. Savera is a woman of 28, who is precisely a second away from the depression clutching her back in its arms. This is her story. It may not be a happy story, turn away right now if you want your tranquility to embrace you a bit longer. Rest assured, depression will find a way to you one way or the other. Reading this may or may not help you, but it will tell you that you are not alone. - The Making Of Medusa's Mystic Ongoing

The Making Of Medusa's Mystic is a memoir following the life of Salem, a witch with a treacherous past. A byproduct of rape, Salem was born unwanted to a rapist father and narcissist mother. Salem soon became a victim to abuse in every aspect of life. Salem was forced into familial sex trafficking by their father, drugged, raped, and recorded each and every day. Salem was soon taught they were not worthy of love. They were simply worth $150 an hour. After Salem escaped their father's abuse, they were left with their mother, a survivor as well, who vowed to forget everything and encouraged Salem to do the same. But through countless attempts to erase the memories, they were still there. Salem soon became a sufferer of C-PTSD, as well as a plethora of other mental illnesses. Trauma led Salem to fall victim to abusive relationships, drug addiction, perfectionism, panic attacks, self harm, suicidal ideation, nightmares, burnout, and a chronically negative self image. After years of grappling with the past and foraging for happiness, Salem found solace and healing through witchcraft. Connecting with the story of Medusa, their inner occultist was ignited. This led to them healing their inner child, and finding peace within themselves. Salem is now on the road to recovery. It has been a hellish process, but thanks to their craft, their supportive fiancé, countless therapists, their coven, and their close friends, Salem is now on the ever-so-bumpy road to recovery. My name is Salem Aurora. This is my story. I hope I can inspire survivors like myself to find themselves and heal their pains. Your past does not define you, but molds you into the individual you become. As above, so below. As within, so without. As the universe, so the soul. Blessed be.
