Know Thyself - Socrates Have you ever felt like a stranger to yourself? Like you're here, but lost? Just another performing mask in a sea of faces? Another wandering being made of dust? • Finding yourself and healing amidst dark moments of life isn't the easiest experience. This journey from unfamiliarity to reconnecting with authentic self expression is what Onarietta documents in her début poetry book, A Diary of Soul. In each entry, she records new discoveries, old pains, hidden fears, joys, and hope that keeps her going, through poems and poetic prose. A Diary of Soul is a companion book for anyone that seeks to learn how to confront and comfort the dark and hurt parts of themselves. It is a guide to finding yourself and creating an identity beyond negative personal expressions and experiences. • Each part (Being, Reawakening, Refining, and Becoming) represents the ever-reoccurring cycles of growth you experience as a person, even as you learn to accept who you are, discover your potential, and grow into more authentic expressions of Self. || Original Description: A collection of poems and poetic prose. This is somewhat of a memoir. I have written these notes and poems to make you feel hope and dread, seen and heard. I have also written them to make you dream, for I shall not dream alone. I don't have nightmares...but I'm rather good at writing them. I also rant once in a while...or maybe that's what this whole book is about. I hope to sift through your head as you walk through mine. A bunch of philosophical, deep opinions that will get you thinking hard about rare topics. This book is really hard to understand, and unless you have a flexible mind, don't read this. A short story through the mind of a teenage girl. I was told it's relatable. There's always something that should be talked about but everyone tiptoes around instead. But it's there, and we can all feel the pressure. There are a million little things to think about in order to avoid thinking about that one bad thing. It just turns into more and more bad things. I am not sure if I am the only one, but given my situation, I probably am. I am not sure if you felt the same way as I did. Hell, I am not even sure if any of you is real. If you are, please stay. I will tell you my story. And if, in any way possible, you may perhaps find her, tell her I was real. Her name was Keru. Her mother had named her Cherubim, an angel. And an angel she was. She had teal-coloured hair, cut short just above her nape so that she really looked like a cherub. Her eyes were ocean blue and her skin was pale like white coffee. She was tall, but only a few centimetres above my shoulders. Her lips were soft and pink, and was always, always arced upwards. I could not possibly describe her in any other way. It was exactly how I remembered her.
