[Publishing Updates Only] It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's a... dragon? When scientists brought everyone's favorite fairytale creature to life, people flocked to see them, including Zelda Rissland and her little brother Amory. Little did they know, the scientists had created more than just dragons--they created a deadly parasite. Wyrmrot is what they later called it. First, it ate your brain, and then it made you eat other people's brains. Zelda's brother is now one of the Rotters, and the only person from her former life she has left is Cooper Marotta, her childhood friend turned boyfriend. Together they have managed to carve out a safe place for themselves in a world turned upside down, but their little survivor group is rapidly running out of food. It is only a matter of time before they start turning on each other. When mysterious coordinates appear on a construction sign, Zelda knows there is only one thing to do. Follow them. Described as Jurassic Park meets Resident Evil, this is an upper Young Adult Science Fiction novel told in dual timelines. There will be plenty of action and adventure with a dash of romance. [Book 1 of the ARC10 Trilogy] **Winner of the 2017 Watty Storysmith award** The President created an underground safe-haven for the survivors of the alien invasion. He built it to save them all from total annihilation. He protects them, feeds them, keeps them under his ever-watchful gaze so they can live. All he asks is that they obey. Captain Janika Lorn doesn't want to obey. Not if it means spreading her legs and contributing to the President's precious eugenics program. As a perfect candidate for the Human Hope Project, she is obligated by law to make more citizens for the dying society. But all she wants is her freedom to fight the Invaders and protect the people who already exist. If the mandated program wasn't bad enough, the worst part is trying to fulfill it with Captain Dean Freyer, her scientifically matched partner and best friend of sixteen years. Just as Captain Lorn is about to succumb to her fate, another opportunity arises. A mysterious commanding officer asks her to lead a human refugee ship--to save humanity by evacuating the destroyed Earth and shuttling the remaining population to a new habitable exoplanet 400 light years away. The mission is perilous. Especially because now, standing between her and her freedom is the hostile alien hosts of her ship, the ARC10, a sister returned from the dead, an array of impossibly confusing alien tech, a rekindled heat between her and Dean, and a sexy militia chief she can't seem to keep her hands off of. ARC10 is a romance-heavy sci-fi with the speculative horror of Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale and the military action of Battle: Los Angeles. This is a short story I made about a year ago. It's not my best work but is one of my favorite sci-fi books so I thought I would share it with everyone. - Stone (Volume 1) Complete

In 2013, we saw them.. They must have seen us a long time before, though... 7 years later, they entered an 18 hour polar orbit around our planet. At approximately 12:31 GMT, the first reports of attacks came from Eurasia... At 7:35 EST, the first attacks against the United States were carried out by what we've come to call the "death-ships." By 17:00 UCT, the attacks were over, but reinforcements were deployed to the afflicted regions. At 13:45 EST, the surviving representatives of the United Nations convened in the city of Saint Clark, Missouri. It was here that the International Confederation was established to combat this new threat to humanity. All states resistant to the agreement were considered "rouge and additional threats." Of course, nobody resisted. By the end of the First day, it was estimated that 2.5 Billion people had been killed. By the middle of getting second the number had jumped to 3.2 Billion. On the dawn of the third day, the offensives began. The bastards deployed droids, drones and spider tanks. All attempts to quell the advance via conventional means were futile. At 5:55 UCT the Confederation gave complete authorization for the use of weapons of mass destruction. Russia, China and the U.S. immediately emptied their nuclear arsenals; Britain, France and the other nuclear powers followed suit soon after. We threw everything we had at them; Topols, Fengdongs, Le Terribles, Victorias, Churchills, Minutmen; you name it, we launched it, and though most were obliterated outright before they reached their targets, by God did it almost work. Apparently our adversaries had underestimated our capabilities, and over the course of a whole night we went from fighting tin cans to massive mechs and star cruisers. It's the fifth day now; we 're throwing everything we've got at the clockwork assholes. Hopefully we can win...
