Grace wants to prove herself by making the men's hockey team at her new school. There's a young man on a bus. He looks to be in his early twenties, a guitar case in his hand, a messenger bag slung over one shoulder, and he's alone. Five people wait at five bus stops between Dulce, South Dakota and Hiraeth. There's a boy of the same age in northern Nebraska. His things were sent ahead. All he carries aside from a backpack is a small black case, and in it are the drumsticks he used in his audition for the university. No way will he leave those behind. Caught in the fumes and dirt and people, a girl of nineteen spends her second night in a station in Colorado. There's a toy keyboard next to her, something she's been playing with since she sent her real one to Cali. She can't risk missing this bus - she worked too long and too hard to get a scholarship to Hiraeth and not make it there in time. So she curls up on a metal bench and waits. A third boy is alone in Utah, thinking of everything he's leaving behind for a music career. But he's had enough of playing bass in a coffee shop band for three years, since the age of sixteen. His girlfriend said she'd text him, but they both know it was over when he drove out of Raspa in his mom's car. But he couldn't turn down a full scholarship. There's a second girl with nothing in her hands but a notebook, filled with half-finished songs and different ways to sing them. She'll miss Nevada, but for almost all twenty-one years of her life, she's dreamed of California. Hiraeth pennants and brochures could be found in her room since she started junior high. She only hopes she can afford to stay, after all the vocal training it took to get in. The last boy, fresh out of high school, waits empty handed in Juneau, California. He's so close to the college it's almost embarrassing that he has to take the bus. To any onlooker, he doesn't look like he's going anywhere special. But the university has accepted a second great vocalist this year. All he has to do is catch the three o' clock bus to Hiraeth. - Going the Extra Mile Complete

Recently my 82-year-old great Aunty had a knee replacement. With no kids of her own and no other family nearby, my parents and I visited her everyday, despite having work etc and it made a difference to her, our company and care. After all, when we're old and frail we'd want people to visit us wouldn't we? So I thought I'd share this one as it cost nothing to go the extra mile, even if the gesture is small, it makes a difference to someone, somewhere, that you took the time to care. I'm Christian myself but I don't think you have to be religious to help people out. In fact most religions preach helping you neighbour and peace but it's been known for rabbis and priests to overlook a person in need, yet a non-religious person in the street helps the person in need out! We can all help a friend, family member or stranger out- it just takes selflessness to do so. Apologies for the mini lecture and enjoy the poem :) - Emotions Ongoing

It started on Wattpad but now is EVERYWHERE! With a bestselling book by WWBG, a captivating Webcomic on Webtoon, and a film adaptation by Wattpad WEBTOON studios, you can read, scroll, or watch - there's an experience for everyone to dive into Waverly and Blake's journey. ***** In order to fit in during her summer visit to a beachside town, Waverly must take swimming lessons from Blake, the moody (but gorgeous) lifeguard next door. ***** Seventeen-year-old Waverly Lyons is from Alaska. She doesn't do sun. But after her divorced parents can't agree on who gets to have her for the summer, Waverly gets shipped off to Holden, Florida, to spend a couple months with her aunt, Rachel. There's one minor hiccup: Blake Hamilton, Rachel's seventeen-year-old neighbor. He's athletic, outgoing, arrogant, tan, and pretty much Waverly's exact opposite. She's eager to avoid him at all costs, hoping to fit in with the other kids in Holden without drawing too much attention to herself. But when Blake discovers that Waverly has been hiding the rather embarrassing secret that she can't swim, he does the unthinkable: He offers to teach her.
