"The tree was big enough to shade the whole front yard. Its long branches swayed in the soft wind like giant arms dancing in the sky. Mandy shivered and took Trisha by the arm. "It's kind of spooky here, isn't it?" An owl hooted somewhere nearby. Mandy looked around trying to place it..."~Chapter 3, The Old Oak Tree *Spend a night trick-or-treating with the rascally German shepherd and his human pals!* Rosco has never heard of Halloween before, and tonight, he'll be trick-or-treating with ten-year-old James, seven-year-old Mandy, and a group of their friends. He's never seen so many kid-sized creatures and characters out on the sidewalks, and marvels at the many sights and sounds. And like so many kids, second-grader Mandy is torn between her love of trick-or-treating and her dislike of the scarier aspects of Halloween, so when things get spooky in a neighborhood haunted house, will Rosco step up and protect her? Wholesome, lighthearted, and adventurous, this contemporary short story fits right in with the rest of the Rosco the Rascal series for kids. *Part of a new short story collection available in ebook or paperback with black-and-white chapter illustrations. Charlie always wondered what has been hiding behind the doors of his grandad's treehouse. But his grandad would just say, 'THE TREEHOUSE IS A NO GO PLACE' and would not entertain any questions of that sort. Even though last year, Charlie was convinced he had heard footsteps echoing through the night from the broken window of the treehouse, his grandad reassured him, they were just the long branches of the old oak tree knocking against the old cottage. His annoying, teenage cousin Eric, however, had a different theory, making up stories of an abominable old troll living in the treehouse, giggling viciously behind their bedroom window. This summer, Charlie was determined to find the secret of the treehouse. But never in million years, did he expect, his curiosity would eventually lead him to the deepest darkest underground tunnels, caverns sculpted of the most beautiful limestone and peculiar hidden worlds, in search of the key to the Kingdom of Solis, whilst being pursued by Zoutarus - the sinister leader of the Graves of Ozaar. ...and little did he know, his journey would eventually lead him to uncover the truth about his father's disappearance. - I Can't Let Go Complete

Sometime around 1994 (when I was maybe 11), I wrote and illustrated a children's book. It was heavily influenced by both Back to the Future and Jurassic Park, which at the time was brand new. I was also a big fan of The Time Machine by H. G. Wells. It's really interesting (and a little unsettling) for me to see how little I've changed as a writer in the past twenty years. Oh well, enjoy!
