Tired of seeing all those RusAme stories? Or those historical ones that only contain countries from WWI, and only have ships in them (not the boat kind): Well, this book doesn't have either! It has historical main characters from before the 1900s, no ships and lots of action and violence! :D Sadly, this does not contain any actual history, mainly just random countries who didn't even live at the same time fighting each other. It was mainly for fun. Credit to @AdranRavenCH for coming up with the name for the AU (and possibly the series) Imagine if Countryhumans each had a power. One power each. The ability to manipulate the mind, for example. Being able to control fire or water. Turning everyone you touch into solid Gold. Alliances created. Trust broken. Friends and allies betrayed. Lies. Blood. Death. War. Gold. - Star Wars: Heir to the Sith (Part 1) (#Wattys2018 shortlist) Complete

Hunter called himself an archaeologist, but he was a modern day treasure hunter. Tiyana was a scientist devoted to her craft. They were passionate people, wholly devoted to their work. Neither of them had time for love. Neither of them could resist it when it happened. Neither of them knew that the world would need the two of them to save it from a tyrannical pre-historic overlord, his cyborg vampire paramour, and their army of mindless drudges. Dawn of the Epoch is an epic science fiction novel about dark matter, death rays, nuclear warfare, and the Large Hadron Collider, but it is also a fantasy novel about medieval warriors, alchemy, and ancient gods. Dawn of the Epoch blends fantasy with reality, bringing mythology to life today. It is also an apocalyptic thriller spanning the globe from the Pyramids of Egypt to the heart of Africa to the majesty of the Himalayas. It is an epic hybrid-genre story with intense action sequences, magic, mythology, suspenseful plot twists, countless obstacles for the protagonists to overcome, and an utterly Machiavellian supernatural villain. Testimonials: "Probably one of my favorite books I've read to date. Brilliantly complex, adoringly rendered and quizzically intense. A must read and one I plan to revisit, and share!" - Amgwatts, Wattpad Reader "This has to be one of the most original and well written novels I have had the pleasure to read, on Wattpad and in general. It was captivating, interesting, immersive and above all, fantastic. I was left in awe of the beings, history and world you created. It was never dull, dry or predicable and it was a nice change from what seems to be the ever popular teen romance with vampires or werewolves or 'bad boys that are actually romantic good boys.' In the end it was a very pleasant surprise." -IridescentLies, Wattpad Reader http://dawnoftheepoch.weebly.com - [201-400] THE LORD'S EMPIRE Ongoing

On September 19, 1893, New Zealand made history by becoming the first self-governing nation to grant women the right to vote in parliamentary elections. This groundbreaking achievement was the result of years of dedicated work by suffrage campaigners, notably led by Kate Sheppard. Women voted for the first time on November 28, 1893, marking a significant milestone in women's suffrage. In this article, we've spotlighted a historic milestone in women's empowerment and their rights in New Zealand. The suffrage movement in New Zealand was inspired by similar groups in the British Empire and the United States, driven by the pursuit of social morality and women's safety. Challenges arose due to political duplicity, with some fearing that women might support alcohol prohibition, leading to opposition from those connected to the alcohol industry. The Legislative Council posed a significant hurdle, but suffragists' efforts eventually led to the bill's passage. While women gained the right to vote in 1893, it took until 1919 for them to be allowed to run for Parliament, and the first female Member of Parliament was not elected until 1933. Elizabeth Yates became the first woman mayor in the British Empire in 1894, and women gradually gained access to other political roles. New Zealand's progress in women's suffrage serves as an inspiration for women's empowerment globally, highlighting the importance of equal rights for all individuals, irrespective of gender. A hundred years ago, the armies of the Suni Empire crossed the seas and set foot in the Ravengard, ending its two millennia of splendid isolation. Today, they continue to advance into its untamed wilderness, their soldiers, bankers, builders and settlers eager to bring the light of civilisation to the native barbarians and transport them into the modern world. That the Ravenfolk are perfectly happy with things the way they are, and have no desire to abandon their semi-nomadic lifestyle, is only a minor detail. After decades of conflict an uneasy truce has been established between the two peoples, a truce which satisfies no-one. The Suni leaders impatiently wait to complete their colonisation, but the Ravenfolk are keen to ensure no more land is lost to the invaders. Much of the southern Ravengard is now firmly a part of the Empire, and pioneer towns and cities stretch deep into the untamed interior. On the Frontier, the lines blur. Suni and Raven live in a state of uneasy cooperation, trading and negotiating with each other whilst always watching for a knife in the back. But simply surviving in the untamed outback, far from the security of civilisation, may demand trust in ancestral enemies that neither peoples are ready to place. Prejudices must be confronted, old certainties questioned, and new ways explored, if peace is ever to return to the Ravengard.
