The Dunaways were a particularly abnormal family. For generations, they had rigorously served the royal family of Averna, the Capells. The Dunaways always maintained a close relationship with the royal family but kept their distance from other nobles. The current nobles were jealous of the relationship the King had with Dunaways and were always looking for a weakness they could take advantage of.
