WHY RELIGION IS IMPORTANT
Religion or God or any such non-physical entity which is supported by a belief is a proof that as humans, many times, we feel lost, in conflict with our inner self or others, in need of help or advice for the right direction or way by someone, who is above all human beings and other things.
This is where religion or religious gurus come into play. Some people believe in it, with all their blind faith, for some others these are just nuisance, again some others are just neutral in their ways towards these things. But somewhere Religion and God are contributing psychologically to the society. People come to the temples, churches, mosque, gurudwara with all kinds of problems they may have. This might does not solve the problem. Religion or God are not some magic tricks to get entertained. They are just ways through which people inculcate a belief that something good will happen, and they, by doing their respective efforts towards a situation or a problem, escalating their worries to a higher one.
When a person is relaxed after the pooja or prayers, s/he is more calm, with himself/herself and others, which is beneficial for his/her health, mind as well as his/her social relations. S/he is somewhat prepared, in a composed manner, for whatever may come, s/he will be able to handle it, because s/he has a belief that God will give him the power to deal with the problem, God is with him.
Its somewhat the story of all of us, we somewhere know that we will deal with our problems, we want to deal with them, even though sometimes we may deny it. Because it will let us get rid of our fears, phobias, and our negative self which might be taking over our good self. And that is why we need someone to listen to us, be with us in our hard times so that difficult path may somewhat become easy. When someone listens to us for all that we wanted to say but hestitated for a long time, it acts as a cathartic effect, releasing all our negative feelings which were building up inside, possessing us like some demon within.
Many famous people or criminals who went astray because somewhere inside they felt lost, or lost faith in something which they truly believed, or had a distorted perception due to the very faith in which they believed.
And therefore the role of a family, faith, religion or god is very important, because in some or the other way, it leads us to the path of belief, that there someone taking care of us, looking after us, that we are not alone, no matter how many big or small mistakes we make or how imperfect we are.
Religioun must inculcate good values and principles, and not the usual superstitious dogmas. It brings people together, either in voilence or peace. And therefore it has a very important role to play in human lives.
