"Annabelle-" I cut him off mid-sentence. "Anna" I corrected. "Anna, I don't know what's going on with you anymore. You show up late for class, if at all, you get detentions for everything, you swear at teachers, cause fights and even worse I've had reports from younger students that you smoke now!" I sighed deeply, his first mistake was saying my full name, the next was his list of problems and the final, he was 'disappointed' with me.

"Look Mr Slade I can't tell you what's going on in my life if I don't even know. I wish I did. But I'm sure it's just hormones" he rolled his eyes, clearly not believing a word I said. Mr Slade was the school's guidance councellor, he worked with the werewolf students here although I was what he classified as 'mission impossible'. I'd laughed at the nickname although I'd lived up to it from the moment I earned it, everything he'd just said about me was true: although I wasn't about to admit it.

"And you're sure this isn't your transformation period?" I rolled my eyes. "Yes I'm sure. My dad's side of the family are the werewolves my mum's... human" my hesitation to finish the sentence was what made him suspicious. "Your sure?" I sighed again and ran a hand through my hair. "Yes I'm sure. For the second time in the last minute, can I leave now Mr Slade?!" he sighed and put his face in his hands "Your dismissed" I smiled, picked up my bag and hoodie and left the young councellor's office with a devil-may-care smile on my face, I passed the secretary without waiting for a slip to my next meeting and strolled down the hallways to my next class: maths.

I knocked on the door and entered with all eyes glued to me. I walked over to Mr Melrose's desk and gave him my late slip with a small smile and sat down in my usual seat at the back. Mr Melrose carefully examined my note, it was signed by Mr Slade and clearly stated that I'd be late for class because of 'Pastoral Business'. He put it down and I smiled to myself. I opened my books to today's work page and my exercise book to a fresh page. I grabbed a pen from my bag and trained my eyes on Mr Melrose as he pointed to the board and attempted gingerly to show us how to solve equations. I sighed and looked out the window.

The fresh air blowing in steadily through the gap in the open window, the wind ruffling the amber and jade leaves, the cobblestones slippy with fallen raindrops and the school yard abandoned during lessons. It looked so...peaceful, so...welcoming.

I suppresed a sigh and finished my work. Slamming my book shut I picked up my bag and hoodie and left the class just as Mr Melrose said 'Dismissed' I walked to Jared's last class and waited for him to be let out.

A moment later he stood beside me, his teal eyes baring into mine, a picture worthy smile trained on his face, flashing a toothy grin, his ivory skin glowing under the lights above us and his jet black hair artfully messy. We were twins although we looked nothing alike, I had pansy purple eyes (although my family reckoned this had something to do with my dad being a werewolf - I wore contacts to hide them though), velvet red hair that fell to my shoulders and ivory skin, although that was the only resemblance Jared and I shared. Other than our age, we were both fifteen.

"Hey Anna, come on, let's get going, Adrian's driving us home" I resisted the urge to groan, Adrian, how could I describe Adrian?

He was the most arrogant person you could ever meet. He smoked, he drunk and had sex with every girl or should I say whore in this school. He was also the most good looking guy in this school, his masculine features, piercing blue eyes, jet black hair and lightly tanned skin made him all the more dreamy. And then he opened his mouth and you regretted ever acknowledging him.

We walked to the school parking lot where he stood leaning against his black impala, his grey v neck shirt so tight you could see the six pack beneath, his tight black distressed jeans hiding strong well built legs and converse on his feet. Oh did I forget to mention? Adrian is a werewolf, he's in my dad's pack and when Jared is old enough he'll be his beta.

Here's the funny part of my life: my dad's side of the family are all werewolves, my mum's all human, my siblings are both werewolves and I'm human. It. Sucks.

We got in his car, Jared in the passenger seat at front and me in the back seat. I buckled my seat belt and he started the engine. I tightly shut my eyes, turned on a paramore song and stuck my ear phones in.
