The Decision
A.W. Nutter
Adrift in the sea of life
Ancient fears causing strife
Hopelessly lost, never to be found
Screaming for help, making no sound
Adept at keeping secrets hidden
Never speaking of the forbidden
Ignoring truth, as I spread your lies
Forced to wear an emotional disguise
Wakening abruptly, to your hideous face
Feeling unworthy. of God’s forgiving grace
Nightmares continuing, they will never cease
Constantly praying for one night of peace
Morning sunshine spotlights my shame
Another night wasted, was I to blame
Should one continue to live in this fashion
To live or die, the unanswered question
