Set in Chapter Eighteen

The Fight

I knocked harder and a head popped up, but it wasn't Embry's. My blood ran cold as someone reached over turning on the light switch. Embry's face came into view then first appearing confused than shocked by who stood at his balcony doors at this time of night.

"Annie?" I saw his mouth silently say. Embry scrambled up and was moving towards the doors so fast I didn't have time to escape. By the time the doors opened I had one leg over the railing.

"Annie, please wait let me explain." He said, sounding shocked. I shook my head, shifting my body to hold my weight as I swung my other leg around. Embry grabbed my forearm and tugged me slightly back over. "You think I want to talk to you after what you did?! After what I just saw?" I shouted not allowing him to be the first to speak.

Embry yanked my arm, roughly but not letting go. "Shh, before you wake up my parents!" He hissed. "To hell, do I care about your parents, Embry. You obviously don't for me." I whispered, yanking my arm back and climbing the rest down.

"Hey! Don't you walk away from me!" Embry hissed following me. That made me angry. Tears leaked down my face even as I willed them to stop. "Hey, hey baby come here. Don't cry please." Embry whispered soothingly, his hands cupping my hips. "Let me go, Embry." I said softly, unable to breathe right. "No." He retorted trying to draw me closer to his body. "Let me-"

"I think you heard her when she said let her go, boy." A voice boomed out, cutting me off. We both looked over to see a boy standing under a tree. A very tall, muscular boy at that. Embry's hold on me tightened. "Who the hell are you?" Embry asked.

The other boy laughed and stepped out into the light cast by the lamp post. The sight of him tugged at my memory just as his eyes flickered to me. The same eyes as...

"Julian?" I whispered, totally taken by surprise. A smile quirked on his lips as I said his name then vanished when he turned to Embry. "Let her go, boy. That's my last time saying it." Julian said, making his arms strain against the tight band of his short sleeves. "And if I don't?" Embry challenged, tightening his grip on me making me squeak in pain.

Julian lerched forward, punching Embry in the nose making him fall to the ground. "Then I'll do it for you." Julian said, standing his ground while Embry tried to stand up.

"Now...leave Annie alone." Julian warned, turning to walk over to me.

"Fuck you." Embry spat out and Julian whirled around fast connecting his foot against Embry's face. No doubt messing up his nose for good.

"No, Annie should have told you that a long time ago buddy." Julian said, making sure Embry was unconcious before turning to me. "Smiley icon?" He asked, flashing me a goofy grin making me laugh.
