I smiled to myself as I ran the blade over my wrist. Watching the blood pour out, dripping to the bathroom floor. It was satisfying, I like it. I watched mesmerized by the tiny droplets coming from my wrist. I smiled, and went to run the blade over again, when a knock at the door distracted me. “Babe, are you in there?” Came the voice of my boyfriend, Niall. ‘Shit’ I whispered to myself. “Uhh, yeah babe. Give me two minutes” was my reply as I tried to hide the evidence. I mopped up the blood from the floor and put the tissues down the toilet before grabbing a bandage and wrapping it around my wrist. I then pulled my hoodie over my head and opened the door. “Kay babe?” I said as I kissed Niall. He looked at me sceptically. I furrowed my eyebrows, “What?”.
“Nothing babe, it’s nothing” he muttered before walking away. I sighed, walking to our room down the hall. I lay on the bed, thinking, when I heard a crash from downstairs. I instantly jumped up and ran downstairs. “NIALL?!” I shouted as I rounded the corner into the living room. I was met with the sight of Niall slumped against the wall cradling his hand, a massive hole in the wall above his head. My eyes widened at the sight. “Babe?” I whispered. His head shot up at the sound of my voice, his eyes teary and bloodshot. I approached him slowly, not taking my eyes off him for a second. I knelt down in front of him. “Ni, what happened?” He slowly looked at me, and he blinked twice before lowering his head again. I placed my hand below his chin and lifted his head. “Look at me babe, what’s happened?” He opened his mouth as to say something, before he burst into another round of tears. I pulled him close, his head on my chest and stroked his hair. “Ssssssh babe, it’s okay. I’m here.” I reassured him. I carried on doing this before his sobs died down and only little sniffles could be heard. He pulled away from me and looked at me dead in the eye before he whispered “What did I do wrong?” I was astonished. “What do you mean babe? You haven’t done anything wrong.” He looked at me blankly before pulling up my sleeve and saying “Why have you done this then?” I didn’t even have to look down to know what he was talking about. I looked to the floor, before mumbling “It wasn’t you, it’s me. I’m messed up.” I bit my lip to stop the tears from coming. I continued to look at the ground, not having the guts to look up at Niall. Suddenly my head was lifted by a familiar pair of hands. “Don’t say that, you are beautiful. Beautiful you hear me?” I looked at Niall trying to figure out the emotion on his face. I shook my head. There’s nothing beautiful about me. I’m just your average girl who somehow got lucky and ended up with Niall Horan. “Babe, stop. I can tell your putting yourself down in your head. I can read you like a book” He half smiled, attempting to cheer me up I suppose. I tried to smile back, failing miserably. “You could do so much better than me Ni, I’m not pretty, I’m not smart, I have nothing going for me. You could have a model, someone successful. But yet you chose me? Why?”
“Not your right, you’re not pretty.” Came Niall’s reply, and I swear at that moment my heart sunk. I looked up at him, tears brimming my eyes. But yet, Niall was still smiling. I looked at him in disbelief before Niall carried on “You’re not pretty babe, you’re beautiful. And I love every single inch of you.” At that point, I felt my stomach erupt into a million butterflies. A massive smile spread onto my face. “I love you Niall James Horan.” A cute smile appeared onto Niall’s face too. “And I love you babe, forever and always. I promise.”
