Okay, so the reason I made this its own chapter own chapter is because I thought of some EXTRAS I could put in for you guys. They are really short, but I think it gives a good taste of the other relationships from the book. So the first two parts are hopefully enjoyable for you, as well as the rest of the chapter.

OH!!! AND PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO POSTED!!! IT'S CRAZT IMPORTANT. Sry for all the weird freeze frames and the video being quiet, but my computer is weird

P.S. This is the school dance chapter O.o

Chapter Twenty Six

Thompson

“I look ridiculous,” I mutter as my mom straightens the back of my tux jacket. I look like a retarded penguin.

“You look handsome, Anthony will love it.” I know she’s right, but I don’t care, I have never felt right in tuxes or suits; I don’t feel right in them. I have to wear it to this dance though. I wasn’t even going to go, but Allister got this crazy idea in his head that we had to go and bring our boyfriends. I tried to say no because I didn’t think Anthony would want to go after everything that happened to him, but he was for it too, and my mom. I just couldn’t get out of it.

“We probably won't be gone too long mom.” That much I believe. I know the minute any of us attempt to dance together the nuns will freak out and force us to leave, and not without some harsh words. I’m not scared about tonight, I’m just not excited about it.

“Hush. If you guys don’t want to stay, go to a movie or something, don’t let anyone ruin your night though.”

“I’m not going anywhere, other than the school, dressed like this.”

“Why not, you’d make everyone else you see jealous.”

No, we’d make everyone else we saw uncomfortable, and I would care less if we weren’t all dressed like we were flaunting that we were making them uncomfortable. I won’t say that to my mom though, she has honestly never known why people can’t accept me. She isn’t ignorant to the fact that there are people who won't and that’s the reason she hasn’t told my dad yet. For a long time she’s been slipping pro-gay things into her talks with him, but it doesn’t seem to be doing much good. Although, I have always had more hope for my dad then I have for Allister’s and Allister’s dad just apologize.

My mom reaches to fix my hair, again, but the doorbell rings and I duck her hand to go answer it.

I open the door to see Anthony standing there with a really big sunflower and a long felt box. I hope the box is mine and not the flower…

“Hi Paula,” he says to my mom, who’s snuck up behind me, and hands her the flower. Thank goodness. When she goes to find a vase for the flower, that really is obnoxiously large, Anthony pulls me outside and closes the door enough to give us some privacy in case she finds a suitable vase before we can finish talking (it’s extremely unlikely.)

“Hey,” he says and swoops down for a kiss before I can answer. It isn’t long, but it’s rough. It always is with him, he kisses me like we just got in a really big fight, but he wants to make things right before he goes off to war for the next five years. I’m pretty sure it’s because of all the times we break up, and most of the times for stupid reason, but I’m not complaining. “I got you something,” he tells me and presses the blue velvet box into my hand.
