Prologue

Meg ''I feel something in the air. Something is about to happen and i fear it. I fear wit terribly for it will change my life. For worse or good? I have on idea.

Charles ''I always hear her heartbeat, stronger to me than others ever since she was concieved. Her scent fading as if she can run away from me. I let her go for I have not made up my mind wherther or not I wanted a mate in my damn life.

But . . . . . . . . . . ''

Meg ''Everything in my life is boring. My job, my flat, everything. I don't go out much. Just me to myself all alone. Just me. No friends, no family. No one.''

Charles ''But when I made up my mind I called her to me. She resisted but when I want something, I take, I get and I do not listen. She is mine. My mate.

Chapter one

''Maggarete.'' The shout of her name woke her up from her day dreaming. ''This is the last time i am going to warn you. If you value your job them i advise you to take this seriously.''

Meg's eyes followed her boss as he walked out of the small office she shares with ten other co-workers. She sigh and stood up, gathering the printed document she had typed out earlier and walked to the photocopy machine to make copies. On the way she suddenly felt dizzy. ''Oh God, not again,'' she whispered before the voice came. The voice that drains out her life force every time it appears.

''Come to me.''

And she fainted dead away.

Charles ''I called her again, readying her to face me.''

Meg opened her eyes and found herself again in a hospital bed.

''Oh what is wrong with me?'' she murmured to herself. Do i have this terrible disease that is found inside the head or i am going mad? she thought to herself and sat up when the doctor came in.

''Meg,'' he sigh, ''There is nothing wrong with you. The result are still the same.''

''But any time I hear that voice in my head I . . . . . . '' she protested and raised her hand to touch her forehead and continued, ''I loose consciousness. I just don't think I can go on living like this doctor, I just don't understand what is going on.''

The doctor patted her in a fatherly way. ''Don't you worry, everything have an explanation and in time . . . . . '' Meg interrupted. ''This has gone far enough for three years doctor, ever since I finished high school. I am so tired and because of this I go through jobs like changing my underwear and I still have to save up for college.'' She shook her head and the tears that had formed in her eyes started to fall. The doctor walked to the bedside table, poured water from the pitcher and gave it to her to drink.

''In time we will find what is going on with you and find the solution to it. You will see that everything will be okay," Dr Sam reassured her again.

"I hope so," she replied drying her tears doubting it. Meg got up to dress when the doctor walked out.

She return to her work place shortly but found out at the entrance the she was no longer working there anymore. At least she wasn't surprise as the samething kept on happening to every job she had gotten since this whole thing started.

Charles "I could go to her but being a proud person and needing my space, she will have to come to me. I am waiting for her. My mate.

She laid on her bed afraid to close her eyes and sleep knowing what will come after that. The dream, always the dream. The terrible nightmare she had been having as long as the fainting spell started. And that voice. But as always she couldn't fight the sleep no matter how many cups of coffee she drinks.

He was there as always, standing there with his back to her. Standing in the dark. Meg walked foward towards him and stood beside him as always and looked out at the scene in front of them. The scene was different from yesterday's dream. This time there were dead pale bodies everywhere. she turned to face him.

"What happened?" she asked and as always he never turn to her and she was only rewarded with his side view. And he never spoke to her directly except in her mind with her own voice.

"Look at their neck and tell me what you see."

She turned again to face the view and focused on one body below her. "I see. . . . something like. . . .mm . punched dot." She turned to look at him with a question in her eyes.

"Yes, that is correct."

"Will you explain it to me? I mean what happened here?"

"Another time. Leave me now."

Meg turned and walked back to where the single door was located, knowing what was behind it, she opened it and walked through. . . . . . .

Meg opened her eyes, laid on the bed for some few minute before getting up. she walked to her tiny bathroom, took her tooth brush and started to brush her teeth with her favourite lemon flavored tooth paste. After washing her face, she removed her nightie and took a shower. Twenty-five minutes later she came out of the bath room and went straight to the kitchen to prepare herself breakfast. She had three pieces of toasted bread with peanut butter, a glass of orange juice and one boiled egg. After breakfast she went to her bedroom to sort out the dress she will be wearing to look for a new job. On her way to her closet she paused to stare at herself in the mirror. what she saw was a young woman with dark auburn hair that hungs around her chin, dark chocolate eyes, tiny but not so tiny nose, lips a little wide and a stubborn chin. Meg sigh and turned around to dig into her limited clothes. She had to look perfect for  job hunting and she had to get one fast.

"Sorry young lady but we are not looking for employees this month or the next but try again in six month time. By the way, have you tried the shops and stores out there? You could see if they want to hire sales girls. You could do that for the mean time and let see what the next few months would bring. As you know it is difficult to get an office job without the proper cv, qualification and degree. And this time of month doesn't favor you at all." The general manager of the local news paper gave her a pitied look.

This was her fifth try and why not? Her idea is okay, even though she didn't want to work as a sales girl. Her last experience as one was terrible. But she would take the woman's advise for now.

"Yes, we do have the same dress in a seize ten but it is in green colour."

"Okay, bring it out and let me have a look," the customer said and Meg returned with the dress. After trying it on, she liked it so she bought it along with matching accessories. Meg shift ended at one and she decided to get some novels at the book shop just at the right corner from the mall she was working.

Meg entered the shop and quickly walked to the romance book shelves and started browsing.

"Mmm, what do we have here for today, 'Love me,' 'Embrace the wind,' 'dark love,' okay I will take this one and okay the 'moon'. That is it." She took the books she had selected to the counter and the young girl behind it bagged it and gave it to her. She paid up her sales and left the shope already knowing the book she was going to read first. When Meg reached home, she quickly prepared her lunch and took it with her to the bedroom. After eating she laid on her bed, puffed her pillows behind her head and back and lean on the head board. She started reading. The story was about a love not meant to be. She was so engrossed in the story that she was surprised when realising the room had become dark. She got up to put on the bulb before going back to the novel. She read for about two hours before at last she closed the book. What an interesting story, she said to herself  and gave a loud yawn finding herself sleepy. She stretched herself on the bed and fell asleep.

This dream was different from the others. This time there were two chairs in the center of the room and half of the room was covered in darkness whiles the other was lite. The chair positioned in the dark part of the room was occupied by him. Meg found herself sitting in the other chair. And as always his face was hidden from her.

"Why do you always hide your face from me?" Meg asked and was answered with silence. She continued, "At least tell me your name." When he didn't respond she got the clue that he wasn't going to answer any questions from her so she kept quiet.
