Empty Open

I took my first steps outside. I had been dreaming of this since forever, to see the real world, what it was and what it is. My breathing became heavy with excitement and I quickened my step. The dull light of the control screen came closer. I took a slow breath. I tapped at the screen, setting the door to open then presented my bar code on my wrist to allow me access.

Beep beep.

The sealed door popped open. Slowely I press my hands on the cold metal, giving a little push. A hot breeze hit my skin and the dull light hurt my eyes. Before me was the sunset behind the hills, and a desert like bush land.

So this is... the empty open...
