Late last night
I stood alone
Just me and the mirror
Nothing dearer
I gazed into the image of me
As it stared back
Eyes pure as black
A wave from my hand
Brought a growl from the man
Standing there
All alone
With only me
To see his performance
I asked whom he was
And a smile
Wrapped around his face
And strangled him in disgrace
I was alone
And confused
Something's wrong
That I knew
So I hid from the mirror
And curled up in a corner
And cried my eyes to dust
When I awoke
In the morning
I found a mirror
At my feet
And that same man
Stared up at me
I asked whom he was
And he frowned
In such a way
That his face
Began to melt
And I ran away
To my bed
I laid all alone
With my hands
On my face
And I cried
Both my eyes
Away to dust
I awoke
To a sound
Something tapping
Like a hound
At my door
To my feet
I then rose
And to the door
I then walked
With a steady
Little creak
I stood
In defeat
There was the man
Staring straight into me
Eyes pure black
With a smiling frown
To the floor
I then fell
He had won
And I had not
To the mirror
Goes the spoils
Of this off centered
Turmoil
