Just one more day!! Julie thought as she awoke from her comfortable bed that her mother bought her last year for her fifteenth birthday. She woke up to the smell of bacon, eggs, her favorite bueberry waffles and unfortunatly, the blinding light that had escaped from the window. Mariah, her best friend was standing in front of the window with a smile. " What are you staring at ?" asked Julie. Mariah stared at me like like i was going crazy or something. " In only one day your turning sixteen! " She shouted at me.

" Ok, ok, no need to yell. "

" Well you'de better get up! its almost 9:30! "

Thats one thing i liked about Melissa. She was my best friend that wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She acted like my sister, even my mom sometimes.

I decided it was time to get off my lazy butt and get dressed for the dreading day at school today. But there was a small part inside me that was super exited becaus*e my sweet sixteen, the day i've been waiting for almost my whole life, would finally be here.

As soon as i was finished dressing me and Mariah went downstairs and had breakfast. When we were done Mariah and I left and drove off to school in her shining red porsche. I still cant believe her parents had actually bought that for her. If only my parents bought something like that for me i thought.

" Hurry, I dont want to be late for school! " " Okay " I mumbled.

That same day in school, Mariah started to pass out flyers for my sweet sixteen. Wow I thought. I can't believe this is actually happening. The day I have been waiting for is about to come. Soon. I swear it felt as if time was ticking slower and slower on purpose. I impatiently sat in Ms. Carmicheals algebra class and waited to go home. Only Three more hours of this till I go home. I was a least bit of entertained as I watched Johnny smack spit balls at the school nerd. Sometimes I felt bad for that kid.

When the bell rang, for last period i felt a small wave of relief pass over my body. I walked home with Mariah, listening to her blabber on and on about how much fun this party is going to be. She talked about how she invited all the cool cliques and everyone else to come to the party.

The next night I was getting ready for the party and Mariah walked in with a face far from happy. "What now?" I asked her. I wasnt even sure if i wanted to hear her answer but as soon as I made that thought she started speaking.

" Well....It is storming and I went over to the bakery and they said that the delivery man is not going to be able to make here in time. He said that he would possibly arrive when your party is finishing and that he was sorry but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. " She said all in one breath.

"Ok, first of all take a deep breath..." She did. Then thats when I started thinking about how much the party will be ruined without the cake. I mean, you can't have a party without a cake, especially a sweet sixteen i thought.

" I can't beleve this is really happening to me right now! How are we supposed to have a sweet sixteen with out the cake! Everyone will be dissapointed." Then I thought, The cake was so beautiful too. It was the perfect shade of metallic magenta covered fondant layered cake and had edible rhinstones and glitter thatwas the color of Pink and Purple. Yeah pretty girly but thats the way she liked it. It was the biggest cake she ever had and was a rounded six tiered cake!

" Its ok Julie, its not like the whole 300 guests you invited will be there only be there because of the cake. We'll figure out what to do but as of right now, we have to put the finishing touches on our dresses! "

Mariah and I were on our way to the club that my parents rented out for me just for my sweet sixteen. We were driving in the pick hummer Limo that her parents rented for us-- how generous,!. While me and Mariah were driving in the Limo i was staring out into the dark limo windows to see how hard it was raining. " Well so much for a grand entrance " I told Mariah. Nice way to top off the cake problem.

" Im sure other people had worse parties than this Julie, just keep your hopes up, Im sure everything else will turn out better. " She tried to comfort me and it was working actually. I wasnt gonna let a stupid grand entrance and cake failure get to me. I sighed.

We both ran out of the limo and under the club entrance. Thankfully there was a little covering that we could go under to hide from the rain.

" Ok julie, check my outfit. "

She looked so stunning, with her long honey brown curled hair and her red dress that was half knee length. Her dress was so gorgeous. She had on red and black pumps and carried a little blue pocket purse. Then it ws time for mydress check.

I was wearing a dress similar to Mariah's exept that it was a clored blue that was darker than the ocean that you see when you squint your eyes to see how far you can look out to. Yep, it was that blue, blut thats my favorite color. " You look stunning!" Mariah said to me.

"Oh thanks Mariah! It means alot to me."

We both heard the loud fist-pumping music, screaming through the tiny cracks through the door. I heard all of my guests having a wonderfull time. I ws still worrying about the cake situation though. I tried to put it to the back of my mind but that was kind of hard. I told my mom earlier and she said she had it covered. I really hope so...

We opened the doors to the club and everyone I knew shout " HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN JULIE! " It was the biggest entrance and welcoming i have ever had. I was so happy. Mikey and Jack from school both came up to me to wish me a happy birthday and thanking me for inviting them. So did a couple of girls i knew and so did a whole bunch of other kids from school.

" Happy Birthday dear! " yelled my parents who were standing right in front of me. " Thank guys, I love you all and with out the help of you guys this would even had been possible.. " I was so happy with the outcome of the number of people that showed up.

My mom told me tha she called the bakery and they said they were sorry about not having to bring the cake and that the knew that it was a big night for me but they also said to make it up i could order anything in their bakery free for a year. I guess i was kind happy about that, but what about all my guests what were they going to have for dessert? We had the food and dinner there but i was actully kinda of hoping everyone would be full enough that they wouldnt want any cake :/

It was getting late and lots of people were saying that they didnt mind taht there was no cake at all and their just glad they showed up because they all just wanted to party. Everyone had a good time and thankfully were full. You know you have the best Mom ever when you see that she orders a bunch of everyones favorite ice cream layed out where the cake is supposed to be.

When everyone saw the ice cream, im guessing that there was a little more room in their stomach somewhere that wasnt so full..

Me, Mariah, Mom and Dad, and all the other guests helped ourselves to an all we can eat ice cream bar. We all had smiles on our faces. Right when I was thinking it Mariah whispered in My ear and said " Guess it wasnt such a bad party afterall huh? "

I should my head no and we all coninued to dance along to the music, jumping around having a good time and ice cream in our hands... ☻
