My somber eyes peered around the desolated ruins. I took a step forward, and heard a tree branch break under my feet. It was past midnight, and time for me to be getting home; surely my parents would be worried by now. The ever-growing trees of the forest surrounded me, slowly becoming a barrier from the outside world. Fear was taking over all my senses, forcing me to break out into a panic. The next thing I did was run. Run as fast as I could. Seconds, even minutes passed as I sprinted through the trees, avoiding anything or anyone.

I stopped; he had got me.

There was no point trying to escape now. It was all over. A pair of abnormally stretched arms surrounded the space before my eyes, their skin a faint charcoal colour. I tried to scream, but there was no point. No-one could help me now. My eyes were clamped shut, and all I could see was complete darkness. My cold, lifeless figure fell to the ground as he crept away. So this is what it feels like to be dead. Eternal darkness, and no escape.

As he left, a voice whispered softly in my ear. ''Beware of the Slenderman.'' Those were the last words I ever heard. It was all over.
