I couldn't stop stealing glances at Merlin. Was it me or was he immensely attractive? You know the way his eyes kind of sparkle when hes happy. His wide kind smile. His dark hair and his-No stop. I need to control myself. He is my friend and I seriously doubt he would ever see me in that way...I'm not barely enough to deserve someone like Merlin.
"Hello Gaius" I said cheerfully as I entered.
"Why hello my lady" he looked around "Are you here for your lessons?" he asked in a hushed tone.
"Yes." I tried not to jump in excitement. Merlin was teaching me how to control my magic and we were suppose to meet today again.
"Sit down then." said Gaius "He'll be here an minute now."
"Great." I smiled as I took a seat.
Merlin came in stumbling with a pile of dirty clothes.
"Sorry I'm late. I have to clean Arthur's clothes."
"Sounds like fun." I said standing up and helping him.
"Oh yes it's so much fun. It's the highlight of my day." he said sarcastically.
I giggled "I bet so."
Merlin just smiled as he set down the clothes.
"Here let me help you. That way we can finish faster and we can start on my magic."
"No don't worry about it. I'll do it."
"No but I want to help you." I insisted
"Aveline, it's not a job for a princes."
I raised my eye brow "So does that mean just because I am a princes, I am incapable of cleaning clothes?"
"No, no I didn't mean it like that-"
"Good then we agree I shall assist you." I smiled and began to wash a white shirt
Merlin closed his mouth and began to wash a navy blue shirt.
I turned to him. His brows were furrowed and he seemed in deep concentration. I allowed myself to stop for a second and admire him. His eyes were locked on his work. There was a small bubble on his hair from some soap that got on it. His hands looked so smooth. He noticed I was staring at him and turned to me.
"Is something wrong?"
"Oh" I cleared my throat "No...Um nothing."
"Are you sure?"
"Um..."I tried to clear my mind and think of an excuse. "I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"....I was rude to you. You didn't want me to help you because you were being a gentleman. I rudely ignored you. I apologize." I said. I wasn't lying...but that wasn't the reason I had been staring at him. Truth be told I had no idea why I was staring at him.
He looked around making sure no one was there. Gaius had gone to cure someone of their illness.
He gave me huge smile "What if we use a little magic for our chores?"
"Yes! Wait no. I'll spill all the water..."
He took my hand "Don't worry I'll help you."
My cheeks felt warm but I tried to fight it back. I took a deep breath and smiled back.
"Now do exactly as I do."
I nodded.
He stretched his right hand out towards the the clothes. Not wanting to let go of his hand I stretched out my left hand. He whispered an incantation and his eyes flashed a golden color. I did the same. Immediately the clothes leaped into the water and began to clean themselves. I laughed and jumped tackling Merlin to the ground.
"I did it Merlin!"
He chuckled lightly "Yeah. You were great."
I froze realizing I was on top of Merlin.
"Sorry" I whispered. Smiling nervously as I stood up.
"It's fine." he said trying to hide a smile.
I helped him up and we just stood there awkwardly.
"WHAT IS THIS?"
