Never in my life has my heart ached with such a burn

Never in my life has it soared to such heights & returned

They said she carried a charm that, to none of us, is immune

And then they hid from her beneath the rays of the full moon

With such precision, they tell me, she’ll dig her way into your mind

They scare and they warn that your deepest secrets, she’ll undoubtedly find

And they say in honesty, she finds the most subtle of lies

She’ll hide and she’ll seek them out, wearing the most villainous disguise

And it hurts me to know what was innocent has now disappeared

And the emotion I wished to not feel is no longer feared

I have opened myself to her; mind, body, and soul

Even her hold my heart, so freely vulnerable, has taken its toll

However, my darling dreamer; she is the starlight of my life

There is no war in her heart; she does not bleed for strife

Her every breath is a miracle, a gift, an intoxicating blend

Whether she’s your daughter, your lover, or friend

The love of my life is an angel; with her, be not afraid to believe

For her every tear she’s cried and ever scar she’s made, myself I would bleed

If it makes her happy, I don’t ever hesitate to bring her twice the dose

Because it is she, and only she, who loves me irrevocably more than most

And so I write this for her to always smile, for no more tears of sorrow to be shed

For every moment spent in her presence while she suffers makes what heart I have sink like lead

These words, as true and pure as they dry upon paper and with memory never sever

Will never cease to fall from my lips, to you, my love, forever and ever
