Winter sleigh ride

Snuggled in my nice warm coat,

Thick gloves on my hands,

Holding on tight as the dogs start to go,

Pulling me faster through the snow,

Fir trees in the distance,

Break the constant white,

Orange slithers through the sky,

Say it will soon be night,

The sound of the skids,

As they crush the ice,

A pair of courting robins,

Adding a touch of spice,

The cold north breeze,

Freezing my cheecks,

Coming into sight,

Are two snow capped peaks,

It's as if the dogs know,

They're almost home,

Kicking up the snow,

Without ever slowing,

Wow! wow! I call out loud,

As I pull up to the log cabin,

The dogs look around proud,

They've brought home safe,

At the end of another day,

Looking forward to their dinner,

After pulling the sleigh.
