Change

Change

People try to change me

People try a lot of things

But they don't always succeed

They try to change the way I think about someone

The way I look at them

They throw some of that person's dirt in my face

And expect me to believe it...

They treat me like I'm part of their 'clan'

But I'm not

They try to change me - to be like them

But I'll never be like them

I don't want to be like them

I wasn't raised by them - like the others

You can't teach a young dog old trick

When he dosn't want to learn

I'll never be one of them

I'll never have that kind of friendship

I know how they have let me down

But that's the past 

And I try to forget

But each time it's the same

So now I don't get my hopes up

I just stand tall

Un-changed...
