Chapter 6

Getting lost again at least three times, you finally made it to Ciel's study with his tray of food.

Tonight's dinner was one of a simple mix of rib-eye-steak and seasoned potatoes.  Dessert, the finiest chocolate cheesecake made by no other than Sebastion.

To be honest, the only thing bugging you was that here at the mansion, you have been able to remember a past you wondered if was best to forget.  It was bringing out a side of you that you were not familar with. A daring, intellectual, rather unlady-like side.  When tending to the garden you kept cursing at the fact you kept stabbing yourself by  accident with the  thorns from the roses.  You also felt a tad excited to play another game, of chess with Ciel.  Like beating him brought you a sinful satisfaction.  Then the night before you couldn't help but feel hate towards the earl in the midst of waking from your nightmare,  It wasn't him particulary, it was something at that very moment you could just not put your finger on.

"Really how long does it take you to walk from the dinning hall to my study?" complained Ciel, stacks of papers crowding his desk.

And there it was.  That sudden irritation.   You've felt it many, many times before, but with whom?

You clenched your fists, and your teeth.  But instead of risking getting your head cut off, you simply sighed and smiled, lifting up the lid to his food.

"My apologies, your house is rather large, I guess I'm still getting used to it," you managed to say with a smile.

"Yes...it is quite large isn't it?" CIel said  without looking up at you from a pile of papers he was intent on studying.

Are rich people always this rude? you thought, serving him his plate.

"Go ahead and set the board up, you look silly standing there," he said to himself really, taking a bite into his food.

Grumbling, you walked over to the game table and began to set up the board, piece by piece.

click.

"Greetings master, how is the steak? I made sure our Star-maid has made it perfectly to your liking," bowed Sebastion, promptly as usual he came in, bringing Ciel...wine?

Now that you thought about it, he actually looked as if he needed a drink. His eyes were rather baggy as if he hadn't slept in days. You wondered what was so important that he was continuously depriving himself of rest.

"It's the best aged wine I could manage to get," Sebastion said, pouring the red liquid into...two glasses? "Really I shouldn't approve of your underage drinking, your only sixteen, but who am I to deny a young soul of its sinful nature?" He smiled sinisterly.

Ciel ignored his talk, and sipped on the glass.

You sat down as he joined you, Sebastion placing the other glass filled next to you. A rather strong urge came upon you. You picked up the glass with your pinky out like one is taught, and smelled the wine.

That smell...you loved that smell...

Obnoxiously, you found yourself tormented mentally on the wine, and gulped it down.

"This isn't a pub Star, so don't drink like a--"

Sebastion shot Ciel a look. "More wine, miss?" he then said to you.

You nodded curtly, and made your move on the chess board, sliding out a pawn from you king.

Ciel grinned.  "What I should say, is be careful with your methods on an altered state of mind."
