Marriage-- A Poem

"Here comes the bride,

All dressed in white."

Every person:

Man, woman and child

who know the song,

are all thinking it,

as the music plays

and one lone woman--

tears glistening in her eyes,

a smile playing her lips--

walks to the only one she sees.

He sees her, and stops breathing,

for she has taken his breath away.

There were people everywhere,

looking in from 16" to 1'x1' screens,

or even the church.

All watching them,

but he only sees her- His one and only.

His, soon for eternity,

through life and death,

through health and sickness,

rich, poor.

It doth not matter,

but for his love and hers returned.

As their vows,

final words and love is proven,

they now seal their final fate,

one to another,

both smile, over-joyed at what--

be it good or bad--

their future together

       holds.

To Kate and William,

and to their hopefully long,

prosperous lives together
