On an ancient river in modern-day Chinese city, Ling-Fei places her lantern on the river, respecting an old tradition and remembering those who have gone before her. As she looks up from the crystal clear water, she sees him. Chen-Bao. No one else can see him. He is a Lantern Ghost; barely there, paper thin and transparent. Visible only to the dying. With the limited time that they both have left, Chen-Bao begs her to help him seek revenge. Revenge against his mother's mudrerer.
