Chapter Three:

As Lukas tried to comfort Gina, an officer walked in.

"Miss, I have to ask some questions about your injuries. Will you leave the room for a while sir?" He asked Lukas.

Lukas nodded, "Sure, but can you do me a favor?"

The officer hesitantly nodded, "Sure son, what is it?"

He sighed, not knowing exactly how to put it with Gina right there. "Will you just be careful about what you say? She is hurt and broken. Physically and mentally. Just promise you'll be careful about what you ask Gina." Lukas pleaded. He knew either way, if the officer was careful of what he said or not, Gina would still be very fragile to the questions.

"I will try my best to be as careful as I can while asking the questions. I will promise that,"

"Thank you officer." And with that, Lukas walked out of the hospital room just waiting for the questioning to be over.

Gina stayed still in the bed, reliving the horrid night where her dad beat her. Tears started forming quickly in her eyes. 'What happens when he finds out about this? He'll definitely kill you now you stupid bitch! How could you let this happen? Why are you so dumb?' Her self-conscience argued with her.

"Because I couldn't help that Lukas came to my house! I couldn't stop him! Shut up! Just shut up! He won't kill me! They won't let him, and I'm not stupid! Just shut up and leave me alone!" Gina pleaded, while screaming.

'What? Can't handle the truth, Regina? Huh? You can't face the fact that you're dumb and that your mistakes are going to cost you your life? Come on, Regina! Face it, you know the truth! You know your mother didn't die from a gang!' Her self conscience replyed

"Shut up! I told you to shut up! You're wrong! I'm not dumb, and I didn't make any mistakes! And I won't die! He won't kill me! You don't know anything! She died from a gang!" Gina screamed again at her self-conscience, tears pooling down her face.

When Gina first started screaming, Lukas came back into the room glaring at the officer. "What did you do to her?! She's petrified now!" Lukas angrily whispered.

"I don't know sir. I hadn't even asked any questions when she started to act like this. Please talk to her, calm her down. I don't want her to wake other patients."

Lukas nodded and motioned for the officer to step outside for a little.

"What do you want from me?" Gina asked, staring up at the ceiling as if she were talking to nobody but herself.

"Gina, I wa- I want you to talk to me. Or s-someone. I can't bear to see you like this, Gina. I think I'm f-falling--," Lukas cut off not wanting to hear what she would think.

'Besides man, she's in a difficult place right now, you can't put her in the position right now.' Lukas whispered to himself while he sat in the very uncomfortable chair and slowly fell asleep.

Gina thought that night before she fell asleep, 'What is wrong with me? Why aren't I normal?'

And with that, she fell asleep. Nightmares flooded through her mind though.
