“We’re getting married.” Tucker smiled pulling me to him running his hand over my arm.

“We are.” I smiled leaning my head onto his shoulder. I felt his fingers over my hip before they moved to my ribs moving over each one. I looked up at his face.

“We’ll need to fix this.” He whispered running his fingers over each one. “I don’t like it.” I pulled his hand away from my chest.

“I’m sorry.” I turned over away from him. He pulled me to him pulling my face to his.

“You have nothing to be sorry about.” He kissed me. He looked over to my pile of things he bought in. “You didn’t get my present?” I shook my head.

“I didn’t…I haven’t really been at my best.” He walked up to the pile and picked up a box I haven’t seen before and handed it to me.

“I got you this about a week after the funeral. I saw it while I was taking a walk.” I opened the box running my fingers over the cool metal of the necklace. “I know what the butterfly means to you.” He whispered taking it out of the box to put it around my neck.

“I love it.” I whisper putting my hand to it. “It’s perfect.” He sat next to me taking my hand. “I love you.” I kissed him looking at my clock on my nightstand. Tucker followed my eyes.

“It’s getting late.” He sighed.

“You should be getting home.” I looked at him. “I think you have to tell your parents.” He nodded.

“You want to come?” He asked tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I shook my head.

“I’m not ready to deal with them yet.” He nodded.

“I understand.” He kissed me gently. “I’ll be back soon, either later tonight or tomorrow morning.”

“Do you still have the key?” Sarah had given him a key to the house so no one had to get up to let him in if he made a midnight trip. I would call him and have him come over if I had a nightmare. It happened a lot and he’d come sleep over.

“I still have it.” He stood up giving me a lingering kiss. “I’m going to be back as soon as I can. I missed you.” I closed my eyes.

“I missed you too.” I fell back onto the bed as Tucker walked out and Saint jumped up next to me. I looked at the pile of homework and stood up walking towards it. I picked a worksheet up and sat down to do it. I finally felt whole again. Everything was finally going back to normal. Like the pain in my chest was slowly closing. It’s still there, just not as strong……

We ended up changing the date of the wedding to Thursday instead of Friday. It was a small ceremony. Tucker’s mother didn’t show up but Tucker’s father did. Mason was my Maid of Honor while Nic was Tucker’s best….girl? Well other than that it was perfect. We had a short ceremony. After what seemed like forever Tucker finally kissed me as my husband. We were all dressed up to look perfect. Sarah had done Nic and I’s hair. Daddy walked me down the aisle as Miss Collins. I walked out as Mrs. Tucker Brown. I felt loved again. We went on a short honeymoon to Texas after Prom. We visited Sarah’s parents and went to Sea World. It was awesome. We planned the official wedding to be a couple months after Tucker and I got settled into college. When we got home we weren’t sure who was staying where. We finally decided to switch off where we were staying. We were staying at Tucker’s getting ready for the night when I had to ask.

“Have you thought about colleges?” I asked him. “Have you got any scholarships?”

“I’ve got some scholarships at some good colleges.” We were lying on his bed just talking, like we used to.

“Did you think of where you wanted to go?” He cleared his throat nervously before answering.

“I was thinking we’d stay here for college.” Tucker said looking up at the ceiling. “Maybe even skip a year.”

“Why would you think that Tucker? What about your scholarships?” He shrugged.

“I don’t need to go. We need to think about us.” I sat up and looked at him.

“Think about us, or think about me?” He sighed.

“Carson….”

“Answer me Tucker. Are you thinking about us or are you thinking about me?” He looked away. I knew my answer. “So that’s it. I’m weak. I need to be taken care of.” I gave a humorless laugh. “I knew it. No one would let me forget it. That I’m just weak.”

“You’re not weak, Carson. I’m just thinking that you need this.” I glared down at my hands.

“I know what I need. You don’t need to think of that.” I watched as Tucker sat up.

“I do need to think of you. You’re my wife now. We’re married.” I shook my head.

“You’re treating me like a baby.” I snapped at him.

“You’re acting like a baby!” He snapped back. “I’m thinking of our family!” I shook my head.

“No you aren’t! You’re only thinking of me…” I broke off into a whisper.

“Well guess what Carson! You’re part of my family. You are my wife!” He almost growled at me.

“You’re pissing me off! You’re making me feel stupid!”

“You’re acting stupid! Grow up!” My head snapped back in shock.

“You’re being an ass hole!” I huffed crossing my arms over my chest.

“You’re acting like a spoiled child!” I glared at him.

“I don’t like feeling weak!” He snorted.

“No one said you’re weak. Only you do. You just don’t want to admit that you are! That you don’t want help from anyone! Sometimes you are just unbelievable! You piss me off sometimes! I even question why we are together.” My anger started to well up in my chest.

“I hate you!” I screamed slapping him hard before walking out of the house. I pushed my hands into my pockets as I made my way back to my house. I wasn’t angry anymore. I was hurt. My husband of two weeks is questioning our relationship. I knew it the whole time. He just married me because he felt bad. Not because he wanted to. I could feel my heart shattering in my chest as I got into town. My life was hanging in the balance right now. What was I going to do? What does Tucker want to do? Get a divorce? I know I couldn’t do that. I love him too much to let him go.

“Watch where you’re drive asshole!” I was absorbed into my thoughts when I heard the screeching of tires on the asphalt.

“Watch out!” A voice screamed at me as I looked up halfway through the crosswalk as the bright white lights came screeching towards me. It happened in seconds but it felt like hours as the lights came closer. I hear a scream as I slipped into the darkness of the night…
