Fourteen year old Jade Kelly sat in the busy police department in the state of Oklahoma. The place smelt of stale coffee and old donuts. It's been a few days since the incident happened. It was a natural disaster, just not something you'd hear everyday.

Detective Marc Richie walked in from the pouring rain outside, walked to his desk and sat his umbrella down. His cell phone rang and he grabbed it out of his left breast pocket on his brown leather jacket. He wasn't necessarily supposed to be coming into work today but this was a special case.

One that nobody else knew how to handle.

"Detective Marc Richie here. What's the problem?" He removed his jacket and layed it across his desk chair and with a sigh, sat down.

"Marc, there's somebody in that station that I need you to talk to." The Chief of Police, Keith Jacobson, said into the phone.

Marc ran a hand through his hair and looked around. "Alright, who is it?"

"You see, that's the problem. It's going to be a very unusual case."

"Keith, sir, I can handle it. Just tell me what it is."

"It's not a what, it's a who. Her name is Jade Kelly, she's fourteen years old and earlier today a couple of people found her."

"Where was she?"

"Her family's underground cellar. Alone."

Nothing could have prepared Marc for the conversation he and Jade were going to have.

"Where was her family at?"

"That's what we need you to find out."

"I'll get right on it sir."

"Alright, and Marc?"

"Yes sir?"

"Do whatever you have to do to figure this out."

And with that, Jacobson hung up the phone.

Keith Jacobson knew something was wrong with this picture. A fourteen year old girl, alone, in her underground cellar. Where was her family? Her mother and father? Did she have siblings? If so, where were they?

He knew about the disaster that happened a few days ago, but couldn't help but wonder. Why was she all alone? I guess he'd find out when Marc did.

Back in the police station Marc was giving himself a little time to think. Wondering how he was going to go about asking Jade Kelly about what happened in that cellar. And why she was all alone. That was the main focus right now. Why she was alone during that horrible night that scarred a lot of families.

Jade Kelly noticed the look of distress on every single person in the station. Everyone but her. She couldn't be more calm even if she tried. It just wasn't possible.

She knew why she was in the station, she just didn't know exactly what she was supposed to be doing. In fact, she felt pretty out of place.

A man across the room glanced at her and she looked down. The man was wearing a brown leather jacket and some plain, raggedy jeans. His hair was light brown and his brown cowboy boots were dirty from walking in the rain.

He started walking towards her and we he stopped in front of her and said, "Are you Jade Kelly?" That she was one step closer to being able to leave.

"Yes." Jade's soft voice replied. Marc noticed that unlike everyone else, Jade was fairly calm and put together. Most people were pretty messed up and distraught.

"Follow me." Marc said.

He started walking to one of the back rooms so he could talk to Jade in a more quiet place. He knew that neither him nor Jade would be able to focus with all of the commotion going on. So he led Jade to one of the interviewer rooms in the back. You know, the rooms with the mirror you can see through on one side? Those rooms.
