Too late. Jeyna short story

Jason slowly looked up at the stars then to Reyna's face as everything fell into place. It's funny how you never know what's right till it's too late. "R-Reyna I need to tell you something." He whispers only to have her shake her head tears appearing. "No Jason save your strength. Piper will be back soon and you'll be okay.I promise" She chokes out. Jason laughs lightly which turns into a horrid cough. " Ray Ray don't make promises you can't keep. Now let me talk." He coughs again as Reyna nods. "It's always been you Ray." he says as Reyna makes a puzzled face. "What do you mean?" She asks knowing what she wanted could never be it. "I Love you Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano and only you. I'm just sorry it took so long for me to realize that." he whispers. Reyna smiles for the first time in forever as she runs her shaking hands through his hair. "I love you more Jason Grace and it's better than never realizing at all. You'll always be my Superman got it?!" she asks as Jason nods then surprisingly pushes himself up and kisses Reyna giving her a long passionate kiss full of emotion before dropping back down and laying still the light in his eyes completely gone. "Jason!" Reyna yells shaking him. "Please don't do this!" She cries out to herself holding onto Jasons body. "You can't die on me superman you just can't." She yells into the night shaking, overcome with grief. She had finally gotten her superman back only to have him taken again yet again but this time permanently.
