An addictive music-like drug that controls the mind

Easily pleased and becoming blind

Without a thing, like alcohol drowning

Brainwashed by this rotten society,

An unsightly beast that we are becoming.

A staring contest with the television,

Another episode of ‘The Secret Life of an American Teenager,”

Which stirs a lot of emotions,

Drama. So much drama.

The same time, a fast-paced pair of typing hands

In front of the computer another game was started.

“You cannot invade my land!”

Shouted Junior.

While at the other room, “Shut up, will you?!” yelled sister.

All night long, always on the phone.

No hope for this home.

A world without physical activities involved

Sitting in front of the computer all day long

A world without any real people

Knowing one another through the monitor

Hardly even knowing each other

Next thing you know, you are being conned.

A world filled with fears

A world full of tears

A daily dose being taken to forget

That another dreadful day is coming

Life. A useless life we are living.

“We are the dead,” so says ‘he’

‘Useless beings,’ in short, so to say ‘we’

An addictive music, a drug that controls our mind

Easily please and becoming blind

Brainwashed by this rotten society,

An unsightly beast that we are becoming

We are slowly dying

The human existence is disappearing

Through time…we are the ones cutting our lifelines.

‘We,’ the useless beings.
