I haven't been writing birthday poems this year but as this is an extra special birthday I thought I should at least try. So here's to Sandy on her 50th birthday. May she have many more!
If life begins at naughty forty
Then a second wind is sure to come,
Around about say ten years later
At nifty fifty as it's known to some.
For Sandy this will be a glorious age
Much like the ones before,
Where drinking too much Limoncello
Could never be a chore.
But if we're to ensure she reaches sixty
Please help her with a little common sense:
It's imperative that she knows the importance
Of always avoiding the electric fence!

PoetryI occasionally write poems for friends and family. They're always personal but not private so I thought I'd start sharing them here.
