----

I advert my eyes downward and manage to squeak out an apology. He's still holding onto me. I look up and my eyes connect with Daniel's brown ones. The connection only lasts for a split second before he snaps out of his trance and releases his hold.

"Uhhh," he mumbles as he runs a hand through his chocolate colored hair.

Maybe I should say something. This is so awkward. Here it goes:

"So, you do this often? I mean, not run into people and stare into their eyes, wait, um, I mean, parties? Do you come to parties often? Okay I'll just stop talking now."

I feel my cheeks flush as I rock back and forth on my heels. Gosh I must've sounded like a complete idiot - stumbling and tripping over my own words.

A smile is tugging at the corners of his mouth and he lets out a small laugh.

"I do, actually. Do you go to parties? I don't think I've ever seen you at one."

"No not really. Parties aren't my thing. My best friend Caroline had to convince me to come to this one," I reply. Silence follows.

Daniel opens his mouth to say something, but is cut off by Red Head.

"Danieeelll, why you hangingg with thisss chickkk," he says, his words slurring. He then falls over and starts laughing.

"Don't mind him," Daniel says. "Ron is .... well, he's just Ron."

Daniel puts his arm around me and ushers me inside.

----

Dylan's house is huge! No wonder he had the party at his place - these living quarters can hold hundreds of people. It looks like half the school is at this party.

Daniel must've noticed my surprise because he snaps me out of my thoughts by saying, "It's huge isn't it?"

"Yeah," I gawk. "It's like a mansion."

"Do you want a drink?"

"Huh," I say confused.

"Ya know, a drink - liquid that you pour down your throat. Do you want one?" Daniel waggles his eyebrows. I can't help but laugh.

"I'd love one," I say, flashing him my pearly whites.

"Okay Princess, I'll lead the way."

He takes my hand. Shivers run throughout my whole body. My heart flutters like a butterfly. I barely know him and he's so nice to me. This is truly amazing - no one has ever really noticed me before.

As we walk to the kitchen, a lot of people glance at us and then do a double take, realizing that Daniel and I are holding hands. Some of the socially popular girls even glare at me. I squeeze Daniel's hand. He gives me a questioning look.

----

Daniel hands me red cup and begins pouring one for himself.

I sniff the cup and wrinkle my nose. "What is this stuff?"

"A surprise," he simply states. When he's done pouring his cup, he finally looks up at me. "What are you waiting for? Go on. Take a sip."

I bring the cup up slowly to my mouth. I look at Daniel. He nods in approval. Gosh, I hope this isn't drugged. I take a sip.

Flavors are exploding in my mouth. Bursts and bursts of color. My mind is spinning. This is sooo good, but why is everything in slow motion? I lick my lips.

I glance over at Daniel. He doesn't seem to be experiencing the same effects as me.

"Hey Daniel," I say.

"Yes?"

"What was in that drinnnkkk?"

"It was supposed to be old fashioned punch, but I think someone tampered with it judging by the looks of you," he says with a worried expression.

"I," my stomach gurgles. "I need to go to the restroom." As soon as I stand up, dizziness hits me and the room is spinning. My legs are shaking. I face plant onto the ground.

"Elsa! Elsa are you okay," Daniel exclaims.

"Everything is blurry and hehehe you look funny. I liked it when you stared at me hehehe. We had a moment hehehe."

Holy fudge! Did that just come out of my mouth? New plan: never drink "special" punch at a party.

Daniel picks me up and tries to get me settled on my feet.

"Can you walk? We should get you to the restroom or somewhere to lie down. One second, I'll get you a glass of water."

Like a Jenga tower, I begin to topple over but will myself enough to grip the table.

"Danieelll! Danieellll. I like that name," I say drowsily.

Daniel returns with my glass of water.

I gulp all of it down. Dang that tasted good.

"We're gonna go to the restroom okay?"

"Yeaaahhh..."

"Forget it, you obviously can't walk."

"Yeeesss I caaannn." I let go of the table and fall over. Daniel is there to catch me.

"Okay, up you go!" Daniel picks me up bridal style and cautiously walks towards the bathroom down the hall.

Even more people stare at us. I blow kisses at them in my drunken state and giggle like a baby.

----

Daniel is rubbing my back.

"Did you get it all out of your system?"

"I think so," I say with pain encoating my throat. I never thought vomiting could hurt this much. "Hey Daniel?"

"Mmm?"

"I'm kinda tired." Blackness is starting to cloud my eyes. I fall into Daniel's arms.

The last thing I hear is, "Okay Princess. Okay."
