I weaved my way through the crowd of people, smiling with fake happiness. As if I ever did smile for real.

" Katie! Katie!" A small girl called, a small doll held in her hand.

" What?" A lady snapped. Why did people have to be in a rush all the freaking time? Couldn't they take a break from all the nonsense. I had forgotten why I had come here in the first place. My parents refused to let me come here, so knowing me...I just had to. It's like telling a child they can't laugh. Who does that?

" Cassidy!" I froze in mid step as someone thundered my name. It was my mother. I could tell by the silence of the people. I quickly dropped to my knees and crawled under benches and people. I reached a door at the opposite side of where my mother had called. " Cassidy you get here right now." She growled. Why would I come to that? I'm no dog. I needed respect, and until I got it...I wasn't going back. I opened the door and closed it slowly behind me. Then I leaned against it, looking at the other side of the city I had never been allowed to see before. It was absolutely beautiful. Trees lined the left side of the tunnel, as flowers were planted in circles. Little fountains filled the empty spaces. People walked around, multi colored suits on. Their hair in curls, and ponytails. I looked down at my clothing, all dull and one color. How could we be kept from this? Such beauty, and color fullness. " CASSIDY!" My mothers booming voice echoed through the small entrance. Oh crap. She was coming, but how?

I ran for the trees, until some people stood infront of me. A man with a bright orange shirt, and light blue pants looked down at me. He was tall, with a round face, and a big stomach. I was in a load of trouble if they recognized me.

" Your lost aint ya? The clothing store is over there." The man pointed towards a small building with flowers around the whole base. I nodded shyly and ran towards the store. I had almost gotten there until I was ripped back.

" What are you doing?" A familiar voice asked. Mother. I flailed to get loose... I couldn't go back...I just couldn't. Nothing awaited me back at home...nothing. She dropped me at her feet, with a glare at my face. Her brown hair, waved as a soft breeze blew through the small town. " You have disobaid again child. One more, and we will have to get rid of you." Her grough voice barked. I flinched and slid farther away from her. Get rid of me? They had told me if I was bad, I would be in big trouble...I  didn't think they meant get rid of me.

" But mother...." I pleaded, she struck my side with her foot. A sneer spread across her face. People began to look, and I couldn't help but hide my face. Only one person had caught my eye, and he was the only one with concern in his gaze.

" No but's I have told you time and again! If you come here, you will be punished and what have you done? You have come here, so you must be punished. We are meant to be seperate from these people...." She glared at the people watching. I shook, and felt a tear roll down my cheek. She kicked me again, in the side of the face. I fell onto my hands and stayed down. " Don't cry you baby! What's wrong with you!?" She growled. I looked up at the man who had been concerned, and I was suprised to see him still watching. My mother grabbed my arm and ripped me off the ground. " One last chance, and then your done." She growled as she began to drag me away. I looked back once more at the man. His stare held with mine, for just a minute and then my mother pulled me back into the tunnel. To be punished for what I had done.

My punishment wasn't bad, although I was shut in the basment for a day. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I had to leave this place...I just had to. Nothing was left for me here, all my siblings were already older and married. Off on their own adventure. While I was the slave daughter, stuck with mother. All I had to do was go back to that town... Then I would be safe, I knew I would. Nothing could harm me there. But how? How would I be able to get there without being caught?

The Roof....

It would be risky, but I would rather try and die, then stay and live. So I took my chance. When my mother had left for a nap, I snuck out the window and climbed up to the roof. The tunnel was a mile away from here...but no one would notice the car gone. I could drive.

I did have a little trouble getting there but I reached the tunnel. Before I closed the door behind me, I looked back. My dull, lifeless world. The trees were dead, the people unhappy.... No friends, no animals. Books were written with hate, while people saw no beauty. The only thing I enjoyed, was the forest. Even though it was dead and lifeless, I still found peace. Sadly people had decided to cut it down to make a mall..... I had no joy after that. Everything had turned grey.

I shut the door, and found myself back in the tunnel. This time, no one was here. Except a few old men in the right corner, but I was told never to talk to them. As I walked towards the door my footsteps echoed through the tunnel. I looked at the old me, as they spun around and starred at me. I hurried my pace as they hobbled my way. They were old, so what did I have to fear? Oh maybe the man who had just popped infront of me. He grabbed my wrists and smiled cruelly down at me. He had a ridged beard, and brown eyes. I kicked him, but he shook it off and planted his left hand on my butt.

" Let go!" I wailed, the man smiled and put his mouth near my neck. His warm breath sent shivers down my back. I locked up as his soft lips kissed my neck. I was officially dead.

" Shh." He breathed. I flinched and struggled to get away. He was old, why would I want an old guy touching me!?

" Please...let go, I'll give you all the mo-" Another voice echoed through the tunnel.

" Let the girl go." I craned my neck and saw the man from yesterday. He walked closer, as the man who had my wrists pointed something sharp into my stomach.

" Be quiet, or this will go right into your heart." He breathed, I screamed and struggled. The other man got closer, as the blade slid up to my chest. " I told you, quiet." He growled as he pulled away from my neck. I closed my eyes and whimpered as someone wrapped there arm around my stomach.

" Let.Her.Go." The other man asked. I was pulled back into his arms as the meany let me go but before he did he pushed the knife into my stomach. The blood trickled down my leg and it stained my shirt. " Oh shit." The man breathed. My breathing grew faster, and the man picked me up and carried me towards the door. The light seemed blinding, and it was to hot. I blinked and looked up at the mans face.

" Help......" I whimpered. The man walked faster and looked down at me.

" Shhhh. You'll be ok, you'll be ok I promise." He kissed my for head and continued to walk as fast as he could.

Black dots blurred my vision and soon everything went black.
