Prologue

December 2, 2044

(11:50 p.m)

"And tonight ladies and gentlemen we have the lovely and talented ballerina Alina Pavlova," Nicolas Blunt said from his chair.

Alina composed herself with a hardy smile as she walked onto stage in a long sleeved black dress. She'd made sure it had black feathers on the skirt of her dress, she had to look like the black swan to get people to see the remake of the old ballet thriller. Though she never had much liked the way the original movie did not have real ballet dancers in the film. At least now all the main characters are actual dancers.

Mr. Blunt greeted her with a warm hug and a kiss on the side of the face like American's seem to do. She never understood this tradition, the French prefer to actually kiss you on the cheeks. That is what happened to her at the Paris Opera House.

"So take a seat there," He directed in a rather soft tone.

"Alrighty," She said in response with a smile still painted onto her face.

The lights on the set beamed down on her in an extremely hot way. She was used to stage lights but lately she'd learned that television studio lights were worse. She'd rather dance in the dark than sit here for fifteen minutes.

Mr. Blunt sat back down into his chair. He seemed dazed by either her beauty or how skinny she was. She assumed both, most people are one to stare at how skinny and frail looking she was. If only they knew how strong she was underneath it all.

"As you all know Black Swan was a Darren Aronofsky film from 2010 that starred the legendary actress Natalie Portman. Now here in 2044 we are finally getting a remake of this legendary film!" Mr. Blunt told the cameras. He turned to Alina, "So tell me how on earth did you get involved in this film?"

"As many of you know I am a ballet dancer. I have danced with companies across the world, and I have sure made a name for myself among dancers." Alina explained. "So while I was touring here in New York with the Mariinsky Ballet, I was approached by director/producer Martin Lord to star in his movie. Which of course made me ask him why on earth he wanted a ballerina in a movie, he then pulled me aside and told me he was doing a remake of Black Swan. So I agreed not knowing what on earth he was talking about."

"You didn't know what Black Swan was?" Mr. Blunt asked her.

"No, I knew the ballet Swan Lake quite well, but I had no idea what he meant." Alina said with a giggle.

"So you'd never seen Black Swan before you agreed to be on this film?" Mr. Blunt asked with a slight grin appearing on his middle aged face.

"No, I had seen The Red Shoes and figured this movie can't be that different from that movie," Alina said, she made her eyes become big and wide. "Boy was I wrong! My mother and I watched this movie right after I got signed onto this film. I don't much want to dance Swan Lake anymore."

The audience started laughing at this remark, apparently most of them had seen the movie before. It was completely true that she hadn't seen the movie before. She'd spent most of her childhood in the ballet studio and all of her teen years in the Vaganova Academy. She never much watched movies she spent most of her time practicing dance.

In the end her time had been spent wisely, she became a member of the corp de ballet with the Marrinsky theatre, right after her graduation. Then she'd moved from second soloist to first soloist a few years down the rode, and finally a principal dancer at the age of 25.
