This poem is dedicated to a small 6 year old boy , who succumbed to cancer after a long painful fight last week . It has been written from the point of view of his mother, how she lulled her child to his final sleep, and pacified his fear of Death by helping him accept his fate and afterlife.

 Hush! Don't cry my dear

Just lay still for a while

Don't be afraid to let go

Just close your eyes and smile

Don't be scared, my sweet boy

Be firm, be brave, be strong

Embrace Death when he comes to you

Don't fight him as he takes you along

For there is a beautiful place called Heaven

Beyond those seemless skies

That is where the Lord Almighty lives

Waiting for good souls like you to rise

He is our soulmaker , our caretaker,

All of us are his fledglings bred,

He looks after the whole world and more

As he has tea with Grandpa Ted

But sometimes when he's busy elsewhere

Bad things can happen my son

A sickness , mild or acute can take hold

And it may not seem to run

When that happens, God sends some angels

To look after us and pray

They dilly-dally about us all the time

Never going far away

And when we feel too weak to move

They lift us on their angel wings

Soothingly, comfortingly they carry us

Floating above to the Heaven's swings

So have no fear, my darling child

Should the angels come to take you there

For Heaven is a blissful place to go

No more pain and sorrow in that divine lair

 Be happy, my precious boy

When you hear the choir of angels sing

Praising the mystic glory of the Lord

As they envelope you in their wings

God knows you have suffered for so long

Now he thinks you need to rest

You'll be missed forever, sweetheart

But God....he knows what's best

So fare thee well my baby boy

In that safe haven, be good, be true

We shall be united someday, I promise

But till then Good bye my angel, remember Mommy loves you!
